I’ve been meaning to write a farewell to Ivan Southall, who passed away late last year, for some time now.

As I’ve noted elsewhere on this Blog, reviews are part of the life of an author, like it or not. Good, bad or indifferent, hopefully they trigger enough curiosity and interest for readers to chase up your book, read it and make up their own mind as to its worth.

These are the books that I loved as a lad - and a few I recommend today.

During my time as a newspaper journalist, I became familiar with writing articles that generally had a very short shelf life. You soon learn that today’s news is tomorrow’s food for the compost worms.
