Adult characters are often absent in YA fiction. That’s absent as in deceased, missing, always working/on holidays … and generally of minor relevance to the plot lines. I’m always rabbiting on about how stories should be easy to find. My school visits would suggests classrooms are a very rich vein to tap into. I plan never to grow out of picture books.
