I’ve been thinking a lot about narrative voices lately, prompted in part by a book where the characters were strong but their voices all sounded a little same-ish to me. Last week was Education Week and I found myself speaking at three schools. Here’s another instalment from the “it’s not hard to find story ideas” file. I grew up with the understanding that Haiku meant three-line poems with a total of 17 syllables; five in the first and third lines and seven in the middle. |
