Sandbagging distraction

Further to my confessions of being easily distracted in a previous post, here’s a column from the prolific writer and thinker Cory Doctorow on how he stays productive and keeps pumping out a novel a year.

I’ve already listed our phones with the Do Not Call Register in an attempt to firewall the half dozen or so telemarketing nuisance calls that come in per afternoon at our place. I’ve silenced the email arrival tone and ignore Skype when writing. But I’ll definitely be taking some of Cory’s other tips on board.

Incidentally, I tried to buy Cory’s new YA sci-fi novel yesterday and was told it was out of stock indefinitely. Guess that means it’s selling well. Must be frustrating that it could be selling better though!
